Welcome to Makes and Bakes – imaginative children’s craft classes in Bournemouth, Poole, Ringwood and Dorset for children aged 5-12.
The fabulous Sarah from Biscuits By Sarah B and I (Lexy, from Made by Me Craft Parties) have joined forces to offer magical, pop up craft and biscuit decorating classes for children.
Our ethos is that we’ll do all the planning, preparation and clear up the mess for our beautiful and fun craft and biscuit decorating activities, while you make memories with your child!
Makes and Bakes – Craft Classes for 5-12 Year Olds
The biscuit and craft classes are one and a half hours long, with 45 minutes of biscuit decorating and 45 minutes of crafting. Craft classes are one hour long, unless stated otherwise.

How our craft classes work
We have an online ticket booking system, so please book classes using the above links before the session begins. We cannot guarantee you a place if you turn up on the day.
Parents or guardians of children aged 5-7’s will be required to stay and assist their children. Lexy and Sarah will demonstrate the activities, lead the classes and make sure everyone has lots of fun! For children aged 7 and over, you can leave your child or choose to have a coffee at the venue.
At each class, children will make 1-2 crafts and decorate 5-6 mini or 3 bigger biscuits.
At each class, the group will be split into two groups. Each mini group will do crafts or biscuit decorating for 45 minutes, and then they will swap over. If you’d like to be crafting with a friend, please let us know when you book for the class.
Aprons and all craft and biscuit decorating materials will be supplied – just bring yourself and your child!
Your children will be asked to wash their hands before they start biscuit decorating.

Previous themes for our classes include: Father’s Day, under the sea, rainbows and unicorns, The Gruffalo, The Hungry Caterpillar, Halloween, Christmas, Easter, winter, autumn, Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day.

What a wonder team! Love that you get a craft activity and a baked goods activity in one session. It was great to let the little ones have a go with decorating where I don’t have to buy the kit or even better clean up!! Lovely results!
